The Embassy of Sweden in Washington, D.C., is one of Sweden’s largest missions and serves as the official link between Sweden and the United States. In addition to the Embassy, Sweden is also represented by approximately 30 Swedish consulates throughout the United States.

The Embassy covers a range of policy issues, including climate and sustainability, trade, security and democracy, gender equality, freedom of speech and culture. The consular section of the Embassy provides Swedish-citizen services, travel advisory as well as passports, visas and migration services. The section also provides consular services to Swedish citizens in case of an emergency or crisis.
