Green Events

Sweden has always been in the forefront of Sustainability. What better place to host your Green Conference then at House of Sweden nestled on the shores of the Potomac River and Rock Creek. At House of Sweden we are striving to become the leading Green Conference Center and be the pinnacle of what other Conference Centers strive to be.

Here are some of the things we offer and are working on:

• filtered Nordaq fresh drinking water filtration system to eliminate plastic bottle waste
• complete recycling program in Event Center
• pledge to be a Trash Free Potomac Facility with the Alice Ferguson Foundation
• automatic dimmer lights in Alfred Nobel Hall
• LED Lighting
• offering bicycles and/or pedi cabs for conference attendees
• eco-recycled conference products
• increasing inventory of on site tables, AV, etc to minimize truck deliveries of rentals
• members of Green Meetings Industry Council (GMIC)
• 100% environmentally friendly cleaning supplies and system in place
• promotion of Eco-friendly vendors (caterers, transportation, printing)
